For a little glimpse of New York-esque living in Perth, look no further.

Complete with a restored New York-style service lift, exposed pipe and roofing materials, full-length warehouse style windows and the original brickwork, this 1924 heritage building has been restored into 33 loft apartments akin to Big Apple city living.

Richard Mathlin, from Knight Frank Perth, has listed the fifth-floor apartment 32/82 King Street, Perth for sale and is calling for offers in the high $4 millions.

Mathlin says the four-bedroom, four-bathroom property is one of the best warehouse conversions he had seen. It encompasses the entire fifth floor, with direct lift access into the apartment.

The owners, who purchased the apartment in 2004 as a gutted loft space, designed the 534sqm home.

“The owners bought it as a shell and have lovingly converted it into its present glory now,” he says.

“The drawcard really is the location and the precinct that it’s in.”

The original heritage-listed GR Wills building was modified with upper floors added in 1950 and traded until 1985 as a warehouse for the clothing wholesaler.

The redevelopment in the early 2000s has preserved the rich architecture, with a stunning colonnade, archways and vaulted ceilings.

Many of the original steel windows have been retained on the Wellington Street façade.

Mathlin says there is also opportunity for additional income with two self-contained executive suites within the whole floor apartment, which are currently generating a good return.

The apartment is located within walking distance to the Perth CBD and Murray and Hay Street shopping malls and a stone’s throw from the multi-billion dollar Perth City Link project, which will link the CBD and Northbridge entertainment precincts.

There are also two basement car parking bays.
