Western Bulldogs forward Travis Cloke will take an indefinite break from the AFL due to mental-health issues.

The left-footer made a well-publicised switch from Collingwood in the off-season after playing 246 games in 12 seasons with the Magpies.

Cloke has played six games for the premiers this season and it is not known when he will return to the field.

"Travis is very appreciative of how the club and his teammates have supported him," a Bulldogs statement said.

"He will continue to take part in the training program as he manages the issue."
