Their top bid of $1.325m was enough to overcome one other buyer in the mix for the sprawling lifestyle property at Manton Rd.

Buyer Tania Christoffelsz said she loved the family-friendly nature of the home, and the outdoor entertainment area that comes kitted with a wood fired pizza oven and barbecue.

“We’re going to move in with our three children, “Ms Christoffelsz said.
“We’ve been renting for the past two years.”

Price hopes had been $1.3m to $1.4m for the three-bedroom home.
The underbidder kicked the auction off with a $1.1m bid.

Shortly after, Maxwell Collins, Geelong auctioneer Duncan Skene placed a vendor bid of $1.25m and from there, the price slowly climbed in $10,000 and $5,000 increments.

Mr Skene declared the property on the market when the price reached $1.3m.
“It’s an opportunity to live on a big parcel of land so close to town, and potential to make this your dream home,” Mr Skene said.

Mr Skene said the property felt like being on permanent holiday, and that most of the interest came from local buyers looking for a bit more land.
