Former AFL player Sam Blease and partner Olivia Lucietto renovated and lived at 36 Lascelles St, Coburg, which they are selling.

Former AFL footballer Sam Blease and partner Olivia Lucietto have transformed a “pretty much unliveable” house in Melbourne’s north into a glamorous pad while retaining the building’s art deco features.

The pair are selling 36 Lascelles St, Coburg, with $1.3m-$1.4m price hopes.

Blease was selected by Melbourne with pick 17 in the 2008 draft and later played for Geelong.

He was nominated for the AFL Rising Star in 2011 and 2012, which only a handful of players have been nominated for across two different seasons.

Blease, who is now general manager of Queensland’s Trinity Beach Football Club, said he and Ms Lucietto purchased the three-bedroom Coburg house in 2019.

CoreLogic records show the property sold for $871,000.

“This one in particular had a bit of character as a 1950s weatherboard and we renovated it extensively from back to front,” Mr Blease said.

The home has two bathrooms.

Blease said he and Ms Lucietto planned the renovations and lived in the property for 12 months.

They did the building alongside good friend Rob Petracca of Dynamic Built Constructions, who is a brother to Melbourne star Christian Petracca.

“I think to see the transformation from being pretty much unliveable into a pretty nice home with the gas fireplace in the lounge and other art deco features of the era, that we were able to tie in, was the highlight,” Blease said.

“It’s pretty close to the shops in Sydney Rd and great cafes and is only seven or eight kilometres to the city.”

Mr Richards see several buyers had commented on the quality of workmanship in the home which features an undercover deck at the rear, CCTV security, ornamental fireplaces in two bedrooms and a powder room.

The main bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite containing black tapware and a rain shower.
