Treasurer Jim Chalmers will deliver a new federal budget aimed at easing growing cost-of-living pressures.

The mini-budget will also outline how the government will fund its election promises and seek to repair the budget inherited from the former Morrison government.

Mr Chalmers revealed the budget will include a near $33 billion increase to social security payments, taking into account high inflation, rising interest rates and slow wage growth.

The 2022-23 budget will be announced at 7:30pm (AEDT) on Tuesday.
