- Mr Read was refused bail and will remain in custody
Charles Vincent Read, 23, appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court this morning charged with a number of driving, drug and firearms offences.
Tasmania Police said they received several reports of a car allegedly driving dangerously on Sixth Avenue at New Norfolk, 36 kilometres north-west of Hobart, just before 11pm on Wednesday.
Officers spiked the tyres of the white Toyota Corolla on Boyer Road at Bridgewater and found the vehicle at the Pontville cemetery at St Mark's Anglican church a short time later.
Police said a search of the area located Mr Read, who they allege was the driver.
