A toddler has died after being struck by a vehicle at a primary school car park in Brisbane's south-west. 

Emergency services rushed to Durack State School on Inala Avenue just after 3:30pm on Thursday.

The two-year-old boy suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

A police investigation is underway and a woman is assisting officers.

The school community said it was "deeply saddened by the tragic incident", offering "deepest sympathies" to the toddler's family and loved ones. 

"The school will be open [on Friday] and we will have support and counsellors in place for anyone needing to talk," Durack State School said in a social media post.

"Together as a community we will support each other through this difficult time."
