Situated on the shores of Lake Macquarie, approximately 30 minutes south of Newcastle and 1 hour 30 minutes north of Sydney lies an outstanding investment opportunity known as the Former Wangi Power Station development.
The former Wangi Power Station structure provides an impressive statue upon this significant 22.25 hectare site. The building stands waiting for entrepreneurial developers to transform the structure to residential, or commercial and residential uses as the site is zoned appropriately for.
The incredibly strong Newcastle and Hunter Valley residential market, combined with a weak Australian dollar, make this property highly attractive to overseas investors.
As part of the thriving Newcastle and Hunter Valley economy, Wangi represents an exciting growth opportunity. Nearby Newcastle is New South Wales’ second largest and Australia’s seventh largest city, the region is vibrant, innovative and diverse. Newcastle is the biggest coal producing region in Australia, providing 64% of production which is worth more than $15 Billion a year. As an education city, The University of Newcastle is highly regarded worldwide catering to more than 35,000 students and 10,000 staff.
This outstanding site is a once in a generation opportunity and gives the eventual purchaser a chance to shape the future of this region whilst embracing its past, and Colliers International is now taking enquiry from interested parties.
