Singer Shannon Noll has been excused for not attending his first court hearing after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a bouncer outside an Adelaide strip club.
The 41-year-old was charged with one count of basic assault over the incident on Hindley Street in January.
His lawyer, Andrew Ey, told the court Noll lived and worked interstate and asked that the case be adjourned to a pre-trial conference.
"Mr Noll is not present, I've had discussions with my friend [the prosecutor] and I understand there's no issue taken with that, obviously he resides and works interstate," Mr Ey said.
"There's been significant disclosure provided already your honour, and we're in agreement the matter should be listed for a pre-trial conference."
Magistrate Rodney Oates asked if he should issue a warrant to lie, which would remain inactive until the next hearing.
Mr Ey urged him not to, saying he had spoken to the prosecution and there were no issues with his client not attending the first appearance.
"I'll excuse his non-attendance here today, but he needs to be here next time for the pre-trial conference," Magistrate Oates said.
No details of the allegations were given during the brief hearing.
The listing of a pre-trial conference indicates the charge is being contested, though no plea has yet been entered.
