Nick Kyrgios has fallen short of defending his Open 13 title in Marseille after losing to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the semi-finals.
Kyrgios, the third seed, was beaten 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 6-4 by the second-seeded Frenchman Tsonga, who will meet countryman Lucas Pouille in the finals.
Fourth seed Pouille advanced to the tournament decider by defeating another of the local contingent in Richard Gasquet, 7-5, 6-3.
