Adele's Brisbane performances this weekend are being dubbed "Queensland's biggest-ever stage shows" and preparations at The Gabba are in full swing.
Transforming the venue from a sports arena to a music venue has not been an easy feat, with secrecy a top priority to give fans maximum "wow" factor.
Gabba manager Blair Conaghan said contractors had been made to hand in their phones to avoid any news of the set-up leaking before the show.
"Our advice from Perth was that the event was spectacular and the artist was slap-you-in-the-face fantastic — I can't wait," he said.
Mr Conaghan said 23,897 white chairs had been sourced for the two 60,000-strong gigs.
Patrons will be seated on the grounds as well as in stadium seating. This will almost double the venue's seating capacity.
"So if you're thinking about staging a 21st birthday in the area this weekend, I reckon there's probably a void [of chairs] — make it a stand-up event," he said.
"I've never seen so many chairs."
More than 18,000 square metres of turf protection has been rolled out to protect the playing surface.
It has taken a week to build the 27-metre-high stage, with a "boneyard" or staging area needed in nearby Vulture Street to help make it happen.
Preparations for the event have been underway since September and Gabba management are working with police, public transport and traffic management to make it happen.
Mr Conaghan urged Adele fans to be patient in accessing public transport before and after the huge event.
"Everyone can't get on a bus at the same time, it's going to take time, be patient," he said.
Organisers are confident 180 portable toilets will be enough to meet demand for patrons at the two-hour show.
"During an Ashes Test, match people go to the toilet about 10 times a day, so it's actually a more simple logistics exercise than running a cricket match for 11 hours," Mr Conaghan said.
Keep an ear out on Saturday afternoon, because Adele is expected to do a soundcheck that is likely to carry into surrounding neighbourhoods.
