French authorities say there are no fatalities in an avalanche that struck the French ski resort of Tignes, and the rescue operation is over.
"Several skiers have been shaken up and taken care of by resort personnel," the ski station said in a statement.
"Emergency staff were deployed immediately. After the search operations, there are no victims to report."
An official with Savoie prefecture, the regional administration, said the avalanche struck on the La Carline ski slope on Tuesday morning.
Earlier media reports had said several skiers were caught up in the avalanche.
The local tourism office said the resort has been shut down.
Television footage of the resort showed bad weather conditions and poor visibility on the slopes.
Weather services had warned on Monday of a high avalanche risk in mountain ranges because of strong winds.
Four snowboarders died last month in Tignes in another avalanche near the resort.
