Prosecutors have recommended an Australian man allegedly caught with seven grams of hashish in Bali be jailed for a year.

He faces charges of possessing category one narcotics, which can carry a maximum jail sentence of 12 years.

Prosecutor have also recommended the former journalist be jailed for one year. It is alleged he was found with 10 grams of hashish.
