ONE person is fighting for life and four others are in a serious condition after a minibus collided with a parked car in Rockhampton this afternoon.
The Queensland Ambulance Service said a total of 11 people were involved in the incident on Spencer St in The Range, just before 4.30pm.
Two people had to freed by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services after becoming trapped in the minibus.
Six of the 11 involved suffered only minor injuries.
All were taken to Rockhampton Base Hospital.
Police closed off Spencer St during the incident but the road has since reopened.
Investigations are continuing.
Earlier, four people were injured, including two flown off Fraser Island for treatment, after a single-car crash.
Two RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopters were sent to the island after the crash, which occurred north of Eurong Creek at about 7.30am.
The car involved in the crash was carrying eight international tourists.
It was part of a convoy heading south on 75 Mile Beach, when the driver lost control and the car overturned.
The driver was flown to Nambour Hospital with suspected head, neck and chest injuries.
The Bundaberg based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter arrived later to airlift a man. Both the man and woman were in a stable condition with minor injuries, and both were aged in their 20s.
Other patients treated at the scene were a Swedish man who suffered suspected neck injuries and a European woman who suffered a suspected knee injury. They were transported to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
