TERRIFYING footage shows a cheetah lunge at a Chinese student and tackle her to the ground as she screams in horror.

Peggy Leo was visiting the Emdoneni Lodge in South Africa when the big cat “tried to bite her” as she struggled to break free from its grasp.

The same big cat went on to attack a 14-year-old tourist from New Zealand the next day.

The cheetah, called Dew, had its gazed fixed on Peggy as it paced towards her before leaping into the air, reports The Sun .

The big cat then dragged the student to the ground as she screamed: “Oh my God!”

Shocking footage then shows Peggy on her knees with the cheetah on her back as it appeared to try and bite her.

Peggy told News 24: “Suddenly one of the cheetah approached me, jumped one me and pulled me down on the ground, attempting to bite me.”

The Chinese student did not need medical treatment after the attack, and added: “I asked a couple of the employees from Emdoneni Safari Park If I needed to go to see a doctor and get an injection, but they said I don’t need to because the cheetah has had a rabies injection before.”

The day after Peggy’s horrific ordeal the cheetah attacked a teenage tourist from Christchurch, New Zealand.

Isaac’s father David said they were never told about the attack the previous day.

He said: “I was quite shocked, that’s not really good (enough).”

The Emdoneni Lodge runs a “cheetah project” which cares for injured or orphaned cheetahs.

Their websites states their aim is to “care for cheetahs, serval cats, African wildcats, and Lynx”.
