This June, the Southern Highlands will be home to an entire month of celebrations dedicated to the humble pie.

Running for the first time, Pie Time is a series of pie-themed events, degustations, competitions, cooking classes, tours, festivals.

You can eat your way along the pie trail - there's 28 stops along the way - and there's also pie on the menu at almost 40 restaurants.

Hotels scattered across the Southern Highlands are even running special pie-themed packages for those looking for a 'pie-cation'.

The pie festivities will come to a head on June 24 and 25 at the Pie Time Festival in Bowral which will have pie tasting, food, wine, beer and cider, cooking demonstrations, pie eating and throwing competitions, live entertainment and kids activities.
