Golden State has extended its record 14-game winning streak in the NBA playoffs to take a 2-0 lead over Cleveland in the finals series.

Forward Kevin Durant led for the Warriors in the 132-113 game-two victory with 33 points and 13 rebounds at Oakland's Oracle Arena.

Star Warriors guard Stephen Curry notched his first ever post-season triple-double, scoring 32 points with 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

Cavaliers superstar LeBron James had 29 points for last season's champions, but it was not enough to prevent the Warriors continuing their unbeaten streak in the 2016-17 playoffs.

Highlighting their dominance, the Warriors also recorded the highest score in an NBA finals game since 1987 when the Los Angeles Lakers registered 141 points against Boston.

Curry was full of praise for coach Steve Kerr, who was courtside after a six-week absence due to back surgery.

"He's been around, the last couple weeks especially, giving us input and giving us what he's got," Curry said of Kerr.

"But having him back on the bench means a lot.

"We love his presence. We love his voice. And we're a full group when he's out here. So that means a lot."

Wednesday's (AEST) game three will give Cleveland home court advantage for the first time in the series as they look to avoid falling further behind in the best-of-seven series.

Meanwhile, the Warriors' win drew them level with the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins (1992-93) for the longest post-season winning streak in the four major US sports.

The Warriors set a NBA record for consecutive playoff wins with a 22-point victory over the Cavaliers in game one, eclipsing San Antonio's 12 set in 1999.
