Three men have been stabbed in northern New South Wales after a fight broke out early on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to Knox Park on Brisbane Street in Murwillumbah, about 12 kilometres south of the Queensland border, after reports a fight had broken out just before 12.30pm.

Several crime scenes were established as the three victims were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries.

A man was quickly arrested and was assisting police.
