Rohan Connolly previews all the footy action ahead of round 12 in the AFL.
It promises to be a debut to remember for Brown, son of club legend Gavin, with a crowd of 72,000 expected to attend.
Buckley said after overcoming the initial shock of being told of his selection, Brown was "over the moon" to play his first game for the club where his famous father won a premiership in 1990.
"His VFL form has been really strong over the last three or four weeks," Buckley said.
"We broke protocol a little bit by letting him know this morning (Thursday) in front of the boys. He didn't know it was happening so he was pretty shocked."
Meanwhile, Melbourne said Jack Watts was expected to be available for selection after an ankle scare.
Demons coach Simon Goodwin said that, although Watts was restricted to a light skills session at training session on Thursday morning.
"He rolled his ankle slightly on Tuesday but he's really confident on Saturday he will train fully and we expect him to play on Monday," said Goodwin.
Goodwin also shrugged off a verbal stoush set off by Collingwood's Taylor Adams' on Sunday when he said former Demon Lyndon Dunn "had not been part of a real successful club" before joining the Magpies.
Demons veteran Bernie Vince responded by questioning Collingwood's own success in recent years.
"It's a bit of fun. I think it's great for the game and a great bit of theatre," Goodwin said.
What Taylor Adams said was right. We haven't been a successful club for a long period.

"What Taylor Adams said was right. We haven't been a successful club for a long period of time and that's what we're striving to achieve."
Goodwin said that the ruck duties on Monday would be shared again between Cam Pedersen, Tom McDonald and Jack Watts as they come against an in-form Brodie Grundy.
"Grundy's a terrific ruckman that excels around the contest and moves pretty quickly. So we'll need to have someone mobile on him and Cam's going to get first crack at it," he said.
"We'll share that load again through the midfield and those three have been doing a terrific job for us."
Goodwin indicated he would not rush back ruckman Jake Spencer, who suffered an AC joint injury against Richmond in Round 5, would return via the VFL.
"He's had seven weeks out of the game, so we feel just for his best preparation we'll give him a game in the VFL and he'll be avaliable next week," he said.
