Australia will play India in the semi-finals of the Women's Cricket World Cup after a 59-run win over South Africa in Taunton.

After Australia posted 269 from 48.3 overs, South Africa was bowled out for 210 at the County Ground.

Meanwhile, Australia's semi-final opponent India scored a 186-run win over New Zealand to secure a place in the final four.

Assured of a semi-final berth, Australia went into the final pool match without injured skipper Meg Lanning.

Stand-in captain Rachael Haynes won the toss and decided to bat, with Beth Mooney (53) and Nicole Bolton (79) smashing their second century partnership of the tournament.

They put on 114 before Mooney was out.

Bolton's dismissal left Australia at 3-154, before Elyse Villani fell without scoring.

Ellyse Perry and Blackwell steered the Australian women out of trouble.

Perry, named player of the match, continued her impressive form with the bat with 55 from 58 balls in an innings that included seven fours.

Blackwell made 33 before Australia lost quick wickets to be bowled out for 269 in 48.3 overs.

After losing Lizelle Lee for 9, Laura Wolvaardt and Trish Chetty steadied the South Africa innings.

But when Chetty (37) was run out, her dismissal signalled South Africa's demise.

Wolvaardt top scored with 71 before she became Haynes' second wicket after being caught by Ashleigh Gardner.

Perry claimed 2-47 from her 10 overs, as South Africa fell well short of their target.

Haynes said the Australians, who won six of their seven pool matches, had room to improve heading to Derby to meet India.

"With the bat we really need to finish off our innings," she said.

"We really let a three-hundred-plus score go today. But it's always important to take momentum leading into what's going to be a big semi-final.

"It's nice to walk away with a win."

South Africa will play England in the other semi-final after the host nation topped the table in beating West Indies by 92 runs.
