"How's the serenity?"

That is what holidaymakers might be asking themselves after spotting The Castle in Bonnie Doon on accommodation-booking website Airbnb, the very same holiday home made famous in the 1997 classic movie, The Castle.

Guests are promised "the opportunity to go back in time and capture memories you'll want to keep and 'take straight to the pool room'".

"You're NOT Dreaming," the listing promises.

"The SERENITY is real."

It comes just as another well-known home from the 1997 film is due to go under the hammer in Strathmore this week.

Earlier this year, the suburban Melbourne house used to film The Castle was saved from the threat of being demolished, with a proposed plan to move it to New South Wales.

The Castle in Bonnie Doon's Airbnb hosts, Mel and Ang, said they have guests travel from all over to stay with them.

"Others will often come just to have a look and stop to take photos," they said.

"We continue to get a buzz from the reaction guests have when they visit The Castle in Bonnie Doon, and we can't wait to share it with more people — it's just the vibe of the thing."

No need to tell them they are dreaming — at $200 per night, fans of the show will have the chance to live like the Kerrigan family.

You can go boating in Lake Eildon and cast a line out in search of trout, redfin or carp.

Mel has even built a "pool room" out back for extra guests.

"The door … will take you to the back yard where you will find a pool table with a twist," she said.

"We have had loads of fun and laughter, putting it to the test, definitely my 'IDEAS MAN' favourite."
