A man has been injured after an awning outside a Mount Hawthorn construction site collapsed on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred on Oxford Street, between Top Guys Barber Shop and Building Blocks Medical Centre, around 11am.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services confirmed they received a call regarding the incident, and St John's Ambulance had attended the scene.
It is believed the awning collapsed due to Wednesday morning's heavy rainfall, and an elderly man suffered head injuries when part of the building collapsed on him.
He was taken to hospital for priority treatment.
A DFES spokeswoman said the area had been cordoned off, and an engineer was working with staff to make the area safe again.
