Known as the Lake House on Camelot, this six-bedroom Bridgeman Downs house sits on a huge 9708sq m of land.
The Tsung family bought the home even though they had to return to South Africa the very next day.
“Once we saw the home, we couldn’t let it go,” Illse Tsung said. “We had a day or two to get the contract done and then it just worked so beautifully as the people we bought it from wanted to stay on.
“We were driving around, probably on our way to the Sunshine Coast being tourists, had picked up a map, ended up at Albany Creek for lunch and there was a Ray White office next to the coffee shop.
“It just went from there and we said we’d love to have a look.”
They returned to live in the home a year later and are now selling to move to the Gold Coast.
During their ownership, Ms Tsung said they had completed some renovations and extensions including a swimming pool and a master bedroom floor upstairs.
Ms Tsung said the original master bedroom was a little far from the other bedrooms so they built the extension to be closer to the children.
All three-levels of the house have views of the lake which has fish, turtles, ducks and water hens.
She said the property had an office with a separate entrance which had made working at home easy for them.
“It’s sad to let it go but it’s time for someone else to enjoy it,’’ she said.
There are only 10 acreage homes in the street.
Marketing agent Sonya Treloar said it was one of the few homes in Brisbane which had its own lake.
The new main bedroom on the upper level of the home has walls of glass and a glass-edged balcony.
The ensuite has double glass vanities, and a corner bath tub. There is a double walk-in wardrobe.
On the same level is an informal lounge area and another bedroom with built-ins and custom-made shutters.
The main level of the home has a further three bedrooms, while at the other end of the house is the former main bedroom which is now used as a guest suite.
Within the main body of the home are living and entertainment areas, a formal lounge and dining room which opens out onto a deck and tiled outdoor living areas.
The kitchen has stone benchtops, a breakfast bar, a gas cooktop and double ovens. The informal meals area has floor to ceiling glass walls and opens onto the outdoor pavilion and deck.
There is an infinity edge pool on the side of the lake.
