Hollywood movie star Chris Hemsworth said he would like to shoot "many, many more films" on the Gold Coast as he returned home for the Australian premiere of his Queensland-filmed Marvel movie, Thor: Ragnarok.
Crowds gathered at Robina this afternoon to catch a glimpse of Hemsworth, who walked the red carpet.
Thor was filmed primarily at Village Roadshow Studios at Oxenford on the Gold Coast.
Production moved up the road to Brisbane for about a week last year, where it shut down CBD streets to use it as the backdrop for New York City.
"It was nice to sleep in my own bed and be with the family and the kids," Hemsworth said.
"Everything I read and any film that comes my way it's the first question I ask is 'can it be back here? is that possible?' I guarantee you there'll be more."
Stars spotted included Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Sir Anthony Hopkins.
Ragnarok is the third solo Thor flick for Hemsworth.
He will reprise the role in the third Avengers film Infinity War next year.
The movie has its world premiere in Hollywood earlier this week and early reviews are fairly positive.
Critics say it is the funniest Marvel film yet, full of adventure and unexpected turns.
