A large residence with lake views in Long Jetty has been sold to a Sydney family for $1.2 million, setting a new street record for Anzac Rd.

According to RP Data, 2 Anzac Rd had been on the market for 240 days with two different agents. It was eventually sold by Scott Falconer from McGrath Long Jetty, who said that the vendors had to reduce their price expectations slightly.

“The owners wanted $1.3 million, and I even had an earlier offer of $1.25, which they knocked back,” Mr Falconer said.

“The property didn’t have a garage, which was a deal breaker for a lot of buyers. But it was the ultimate holiday house.”

The home was on a 1,208sqm block with a large pool, open-plan layout, landscaped gardens, ducted air conditioning and plantation shutters.

Mr Falconer said that the property was purchased by four Sydney sisters who plan to use it for themselves, as well as rent it out as a holiday house.

“It only cost them $300,000 each and they’ve got a beautiful property,” he said.

“The vendors were happy in the end because they are looking to downsize, and can now focus on finding something perfect. They have a delayed settlement period, so they can now spend the time on that.”

The previous street record on Anzac Pde was number 47, which sold in July last year for $1.05 million.
