ANDREW AND PIP Goldsmith, who made their trendsetting name in hospitality as the Boat House restaurant owners, have secured a $3.85 million buyer for their nearby hillside Palm Beach home, with plans to buy elsewhere on the northern beaches peninsula.
They have given the three bedroom home a recent facelift, after paying $2,625,000 in 2015 on 12 month delayed settlement terms.

Having moved in with baby Darcy, they have since added to their family, and decided against major renovations to the classic 1930s beach house on a 780 sqm Norma Road parcel.
LJ Hooker Palm Beach agent Peter Robinson had offered a $3.4 million price guidance.
The Northern Beaches power couple’s Boathouse Group, runs the Palm Beach and Balmoral Beach Boathouse kiosks, Le Kiosk at Shelly Beach in Manly, Moby Dicks at Whale Beach and most recently extended across to the Central Coast buying the Patonga Beach Hotel.
Andrew told the Manly Daily as soon as they walked in at its open for inspection it felt like home.
“We love Palm Beach and Whale Beach,” he said.
Pip is an interior designer and worked on the internals using her homewares store Boathouse Home, while Andrew has a background in horticulture and took care of the gardens outside.
A guest studio sits in the professionally designed gardens with evergreen shrubs, natural rock formations and dry stone walls.
They had plans drawn up to add a second storey which would have added another bedroom, more living space and a swimming pool.
The open plan living and dining area looks over the whole of Whale Beach from its ridge line position.
Last year Pip’s father, former Australian trade minister Andrew Robb and wife Maureen bought across the road to be closer to their grandchildren.
They spent $3,735,000 on Indigo, the luxury hilltop trophy, well before its scheduled auction.
Their home was marketed as having one of the best northerly views in Palm Beach.
There have been other culinary offerings around the neighbourhood over recent years.
Norma Road home is not far from the longtime home of the acclaimed chef Greg Doyle and wife Jenny.
The couple have owned the Norma Road home since they paid $500,000 in 1989.
They came to prominence after their 1991 purchase of Pier, Rose Bay’s famed waterfront eatery.
Down the beach Simon Johnson, the food providore behind the now-sold boutique gourmet label, recently sold his $7 million Whale Beach home.
It was first listed in 2014 with $8 million ambitious hopes.
Johnson and his partner David Nichols now divide their time between their Sydney apartment and London home.
