The sister of Sea Eagles star Dylan Walker will remain behind bars after being charged over the manslaughter of her partner.

Jade Walker is accused of killing 51-year-old Gilbert Caetano in Sydney's south on the weekend.

Mr Cateano was found unsconscious at a home in Brighton Le-Sands and despite efforts to revive him, he died at the scene.

Ms Walker was arrested at the home and charged with manslaughter and one count of entering a dwelling with intent.

Police described the incident as domestic violence related.

In court on Monday, Ms Walker came up from the dock with what appeared to be a black eye, and she fought back tears during proceedings.

Court documents revealed there were witnesses to the alleged attack in which Mr Cateano sustained serious injuries to his face and head, which ultimately resulted in his death.

The Manly football club acknowledged the legal proceedings and said they were offering support to Mr Walker and his family.

"The club's focus during this challenging period, which has come at the same time as Dylan is undergoing recovery from a serious eye socket injury sustained in the club's win over Melbourne Storm on Saturday night, is on fully supporting Dylan and his family," the statement said.

The victim's daughter, Jessica, paid tribute to her father on Sunday.

"The best way to describe him was as a kid at heart," she said.

"He was a loving and caring person, I don't think he deserved this."

Ms Walker did not apply for bail at Sutherland Local Court on Monday and it was formally refused.

She is due to face court via audio visual link next Monday.
