A former senior adviser to Ipswich mayors Paul Pisasale and Andrew Antoniolli has appeared in a Brisbane court charged with misconduct in a public office.

Ben Michael Hayward, 29, appeared at Brisbane Arrests Court on Thursday to face charges of misconduct in a public office, with allegations that he "gave a sum of money to Legends of League on account of a false invoices" with "intent to dishonestly gain a benefit for Legends of League".
Court documents show the alleged misconduct occured between August 2, 2016, and June 4, 2017.
Mr Hayward, who gave an address in Brassall, was charged conjointly with former Ipswich chief operating officer Craig Maudsley on May 2.
Mr Hayward was released on bail, with his matter to appear again on June 18.
Conditions of bail were that Mr Hayward would have no contact with Mr Maudsley, Troy Byers or former mayor Paul Pisasle, and he would reside at his home address.
