Savills Australia is preparing for a bumper new year in Sydney’s CBD and fringe suburbs, welcoming a new State Director to lead the business’ Office Leasing division.
With more than 18 years’ experience in real estate, Tom Mott joins Savills from JLL, where he was a Senior Director in the Sydney CBD Office Leasing team.
In that time, Mr Mott was pivotal in building a successful leasing business, focusing on developing strategies for office projects, sourcing prospective tenants, securing commitments, and negotiating commercial terms with major occupiers.
“We are delighted to have secured someone of Tom’s calibre to lead the Sydney leasing team,” Savills Australia’s National Head of Office Leasing, Graham Postma, said.
“Throughout his 18-year career, Tom has developed a strong network of clients and is well known for being a highly professional, dedicated and successful operator.”
Mr Postma went on to say that Mr Mott had been a top performer for many years, concluding several major leasing transactions, including 4,600sq m to Arcadis at 580 George Street; 3,500sq m to Flexigroup at 179 Elizabeth Street; and 1,900sq m to Squire Patton Boggs at Aurora Place.
“In 2015, Tom was the top fee-generator for JLL’s Office Leasing division in NSW and second in Australia,” Mr Postma said.
“He also won the 2009 DEXUS Transaction of the Year for a 6,000sq m pre-lease deal to Carnival Australia.”
Mr Mott said he was excited to join Savills for the opportunity to work for a global real estate business that was establishing a dominant share of Australia’s commercial property market.
“I’m looking forward to working alongside some of Australia’s best agents in their respective business lines,” he said.
“The desire and commitment to grow the business from CEO and board level is really motivating, and sets Savills apart from its competitors.”
Mr Mott said his first port of call at Savills would be to expand the Office Leasing team’s client base and increase its revenue.
“I’m also committed to personally growing as a leader and developing and empowering the existing team, while attracting quality people that fit the Savills culture,” he said.
