The big sales keep on rolling in across the lower north shore, after another successful auction weekend.
A two-bedroom Waverton home was the scene of an incredible result, selling for $3.165 million — a whopping $790,000 above reserve.
It comes hot on the heels of the auction of 3 Thrupp St, Neutral Bay two weeks ago, which sold for $520,000 above reserve.

Backlog of unsold homes reaches decade high
A crowd of 100 turned out for the auction of 12 Tunks St, with 10 bidders registering, and six actively taking part.
The property has two bedrooms and is close to the village.
It began with a bid of $2.1 million and raced past the $2.375 million reserve.
Bids then eased from $25,000 increments to $10,000 and $5000 lots, until the hammer fell on $3.165 million.
The buyer is a young family from Artarmon who were looking to upsize.
Belle Property Neutral Bay agent Tom Scarpignato, said the impressive result was unexpected.
“I’m not surprised as we had incredible interest, but I did not expect it to sell way over like that,” he said.
He said downsizers, upsizers, and developers had all showed strong interest in the property.
Around 200 groups inspected the property over the campaign
An upsizing family from Artarmon purchased the home.
There were 31 contracts issued and 200 group inspections during the campaign.
“It was the perfect recipe for a spirited, enthusiastic auction,” he said.
“This result demonstrates the popularity of Waverton and strong demand for rare freestanding homes with level access and huge potential.”
The property is situated on one of Waverton’s top streets, and is within walking distance of the village and train station.
