For the first time in 30 years, The Australian Property Institute (API) is selling its Canberra headquarters, but will continue to serve the Canberra property community and maintain a local presence.

According to exclusive selling agent, Nic Purdue, Director of Commercial Sales at Savills Australia, API’s decision to exit their property holding in Canberra is part of a wider corporate strategy to modernise the Institute and allocate capital to other parts of the business to better serve their members.

The two level office building features a two-level atrium with vaulted ceiling and existing fit-out and sits on a 611sq m site with a total Net Lettable Area of 523sq m.

Located at 6 Campion Street, the property sits within the Inner-South office market of Deakin, home to a number of industry associations, medical companies and hi-tech business parks. The property offers two car spaces and is zoned CZ2- Business Zone.

The location is close to both Calvary John James and Canberra Hospital/National Capital Private, as well as the Equinox Business Park.

Mr Purdue said the Deakin office market is dominated by unit titled buildings and it is rare to find single-title buildings for sale.

“This property would be an ideal corporate headquarters for a small business or a repositioning play for an investor,” he continued.

6 Campion Street is being sold through Savills Australia via Expressions of Interest closing Thursday 4 July 2019.
