A COMPACT two-bedroom house with plenty of room to move sparked the imagination of five bidders at a competitive auction in Bell Park.
Harcourts, North Geelong agent Shane King said the flexibility of a 619sq m block at 26 Malcolm St saw buyers dig deeper than expected on Saturday.
He said the property sold for $420,000 under the hammer.

Price hopes for the modest, original house just around the corner from the Hughes St shopping strip had been between $345,000 and $379,000.
Mr King said the new owners planned to improve the house with a view to possibly moving in down the track.
“They were going to do a renovation and extend,” Mr King said.
“The attraction was just the location in Bell Park … close to the Hughes St shops, and the 619sq m of land.”
The house offers separate living and dining rooms, plus a kitchen, two bedrooms, a study and central bathroom.
A single garage with a laundry and storage room sits in the north-facing backyard.
The location is handy to the Bell Post Shopping Centre and the Geelong Ring Road for travelling to Melbourne and the coast.
