The Mudgeeraba property at 31 Spoonbill Way has some pretty cool features in its backyard.

TENNIS courts are not unusual in Gold Coast backyards but one acreage estate is offering house hunters the chance to alley-oop and slam dunk instead.

The Mudgeeraba property has a swish professional basketball half-court, allowing its owners to shoot some hoops and perfect their skills or have a game of one-on-one.

Owner Murray Carter, whose wife Nicole is a Harcourts real estate agent, said they decided to install the court because many people they spoke to with tennis courts said they barely used them.

Spend your weekends shooting some hoops.

Or taking a dip in the wet edge pool.

The impressive kitchen was designed with entertaining in mind.

“We wanted to have something the kids would enjoy,” he said.

“We spend a lot of time out there with the kids and even when we have friends over, we all throw the ball around.”

The half-court is just one of the luxury inclusions on offer in the Spoonbill Way house, which has been listed for sale with a $3.599 million price tag.

Its lower level has a media room, a gym and a rumpus room, which is home to several pinball machines at the moment.

An impressive gourmet-style kitchen is the heart of the home and opens on to an outdoor entertainment area with a wet-edge pool, which Mr Carter said was ideal for entertaining.

Why go to the cinema when you have your own at home?

The five-bedroom house has a long list of luxury inclusions.

Pinball machines are currently in the rumpus room.

“We entertain a lot so the kitchen has three ovens and it’s got space for two fridges,” he said.

The Carters designed and built the home in Jabiru Estate with their family in mind.

“I wanted a house that was big but didn’t feel big. I wanted a house that still had a family feel to it,” he said.

The privacy that comes with its 0.59ha footprint and proximity to Robina Town Centre was what Mr Carter loved most about the home.

“That’s one of the attractions — anywhere else, to get those sized blocks you’ve got to be out of town,” he said.

Kollosche director Michael Kollosche and agent Ryan Ward are marketing the property.
