The $4.065 million sale of 25 Campbell St in Abbotsford has broke a suburb property record after selling at auction for $65,000 above expectations.
The sale is the highest result ever recorded for a non-waterfront property in Abbotsford, eclipsing the 2017 sale of 43 Walton Cres for $4.05 million, according to CoreLogic.
It is also the second highest price paid in the tightly held inner west region in 2019 after golfer Craig Parry sold his waterfront home for the overall suburb record in May for around $10 million.

The dramatic auction saw five register to bid on the day including the eventual buyer who is a local from the inner west.
Cobden & Hayson — Balmain’s Damon Parker said it was a strong campaign with 120 groups inspecting the five-bedroom home and 21 contracts issued.
“This is a home that brings buyers to the market, and we saw a lot of activity from those who were not looking, but knew this home was an opportunity they couldn’t miss,” he said.
“It has been a long time since a property like this has came up for sale, so it generated good buzz during the campaign.”

The designer property offered buyers everything from a heated swimming pool to library and an apartment-sized main bedroom with a his and hers walk-in wardrobe.
“Buyers feedback was that the home ‘ticked all the boxes’ and offered everything they wanted in an Abbotsford home,” Mr Parker said.
Sitting on 746sqm, the house also had a marble island kitchen with Miele appliances, Sonos system throughout and a terraced lawn.
