The Australian Council of The Arts has leased a 2,072sq m office in 'U60', the A Grade building located at 60 Union Street Pyrmont from AFIAA paying $790 per square metre net under a 10 plus 10 year lease.

The building consists of a seven storey and two-storey structure which are connected by a three-storey glazed atrium. Comprising approximately 16,800sq m of commercial accommodation, complemented by a 2,800sq m retail mall, a 2,500sq m Coles supermarket and 175 basement level parking spaces, 60 Union Street offers attractive accommodation located in Sydney’s growing fringe office market.

The building has currently undergone a major upgrade including the refurbishment of the ground floor entrance and lobby, each floor lobby and bathrooms, new end of trip facilities and distinctive external metal colour cladding to the façade.

“U60’s focus for the upgrade was to make the asset a healthy and happy wellness precinct with a large green wall, yoga classes and high quality end of trip facilities for tenants as well as an array of eateries and service offerings for the public,” says Liz Braithwaite of Savills Office Leasing.

The Australian Council of The Arts said they made a conscious decision to move to a vibrant and youthful suburb which is close to the CBD, but has a neighbourhood feel.

The deal was negotiated by Savills Australia who said AFIAA has spent circa $30m on the asset and major tenants include Parkview and Star Casino.
