Around 8.20am today a member of the public located a man deceased next to his motorcycle at Booroobin.

Formal identification has to yet to be conducted however it is believed to be missing Sandgate man Siemon Mulder.

Preliminary information indicates the motorcycle crashed on a left-hand bend on Maleny Stanley River Road at Booroobin. Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.

Mr Mulder was reported missing after failing to return home from a motorcycle ride on Monday, August 19.

Police would like to thank the public and media for their assistance with the missing person appeals.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
