Empty nesters have listed their six-bedroom dream home in Glenbrook with a price guide of between $3.2 million and $3.5 million.

If it sells for around this price, it will set a record for the most expensive property in the suburb.

The family home at 31a Brook Rd, Glenbrook, is on 1,850 sqm and has uninterrupted views of the Blue Mountains bushland.

The home offers a number of entertainment spaces — one with a heated pool, barbecue terrace, wine fridge, projector and cabana with bathroom.

The home also has a whole-floor parents’ retreat, flooring made from spotted gum, 5,000 litre rainwater tank, Velux remote skylights and Ellie Cashman designer wallpaper.

The kitchen has a fully integrated Caesarstone island kitchen with twin Miele ovens, a butler’s pantry and a recycled brick wine cellar than can hold 800 bottles.

The property last sold in 2013 for $775,000, with extensive renovations completed in 2017.

Agent Brenden Purcell from Purcell Properties Blue Mountains said the owners had built the property as a labour of love and now as empty nesters, have found the home is too big for them.

He said the price point of the home is realistic given the inclusions, size of the property, quality of the house and its proximity to the base of the mountains.

“Given the interest in property around Badgerys Creek and the surrounding areas ahead of the Western Sydney airport development land of this size and a house of this quality will be at a premium,” he said.

The current price record for Glenbrook is for the sale of 16 Cox St, a five-bedroom home on 24,600 sqm that sold in November 2017 for $2,570,000.
