Simone Callahan will star on Channel 7’s Ladies’ Night.

Simone Callahan stars in The All New Monty: Ladies’ Night, Channel 7, tonight, September 29, at 7pm.

Where do you live?

In the bayside area of Melbourne with my three kids in a house I bought in 2017 and renovated.

What do you love most about your home?

It feels like home, there’s no maintenance and it’s close to the beach. It’s really suitable for me and the kids at this stage of our lives. I am really happy here.

Have you changed anything about your home?

I did a full renovation. I changed all the bedrooms and bathrooms and built a new room upstairs and a rooftop garden, so it was a pretty major reno.

One more thing you’d change?

Nothing. I’m really happy with how it’s turned out.

How many homes have you ever lived in?

I think I’m up to about number 14. I like to move — but, because this one really feels like home, I think I’ll be here for a while.

The most memorable?

My family home, where I grew up, was pretty special. I loved being there with my brothers, sisters, Mum and Dad. And I loved being in my little bedroom, with my stamps and coin collections, listening to all my records. That’s the house I spent the most time in. My other homes over the past 20 years have been a case of: “move in, renovate, move out”.

Your first foot on the property ladder?

A little brick, three-bedroom house in East Brighton that (then partner, cricketer) Shane (Warne) and I bought for $220,000 in 1993. We were both aged 23 at the time.

Are you a keen or reluctant property buyer?

I’m a keen property buyer. I’m quite confident with moving properties and knowing what people want, and what works, in a renovation. I’ve got a lot of experience in the building game.

How many homes have you ever bought and ever sold?

I’ve bought about 14 and sold about 13.

The highlights of your property journey?

Just the good feeling you get from renovating — the sense that you’ve built something that’s pretty cool and somebody else wants to buy it.

The lowlights?

When I’ve lost money on properties. I like to buy and sell, but two properties I bought impulsively. I renovated them and sold them at a loss.

Best property advice you’ve heard?

Buy the worst house in the best street.

Any future property plans?

No. I’m pretty settled and content where I am now.
