How to play it: Scalded to win and quinella 4 and 7
Odds and Evens (First 2): Split

Race 2 MAIDEN PLATE (1400m):

Plenty of chances here through very modest and thin form-lines. Local 4YO mare 7. Rewarded Princess lines up for her 12th start, but has gone close to breaking the maiden a couple of times. Has been finishing OK this prep in deeper maidens, and didn't have much luck last start when slow to begin. Drawn to get plenty of cover, and this is her chance in a weak race.

Dangers: Wagga 4YO gelding 2. Supalux has far more ability than his one placing from seven starts suggests. Finished hard in a deeper maiden third-up at home, and extra journey suits, although will need to find cover from a wide barrier. Rival 3YO Wagga gelding 10. Bless You Toby has been running on OK late all prep without threatening, and will get a nice trail from the gate; while 4YO Canberra mare 3. Datai is yet to run a place, but also comes out of stronger maidens for leading stable.

How to play it: Rewarded Princess to win and box trifecta 2,3,7,10
Odds and Evens: Split

Race 3 BM 66 HCP (1100m):

Canberra 4YO gelding 4. Acton Shale can bounce back here over a shorter distance after finding the on-speed pressure too much last start behind a smart galloper. Looked good first-up winning on the synthetic at home, and this is the right grade fourth-up from a cosy low draw.

Dangers: Consistent 7YO Wagga gelding 1. Delivered rises sharply in weight for his return, but is significantly back in grade. Charged home to beat a good field on the Riverside track two starts ago before solid through the line in a BM 74 in winter. Wodonga 5YO gelding 3. Shehroz can be inconsistent, but fought on OK into a place first-up in a good Class 3 at Wagga, and draws a nice trailing gate. Another Wagga runner, 5YO gelding 6. Tully Toff has been hitting the line well in weaker races, and drops 4.5kg for this tougher test; while 8YO Canberra gelding 7. Boys Day Out can pick and chose his days to perform, but comes out of that same race as the top selection behind the smart Sausedge.

How to play it: Acton Shale each way
Odds and Evens: Split

Race 4 BM 58 HCP (1200m):

Very even and tough race. Kembla 6YO gelding 3. Halliday Road hasn't won for a long time, but is tough and has been placed nearly 40 per cent of the time from 43 starts. Draw to get a nice run, and this is a little drop in grade.

Dangers: Wangaratta 7YO 1. Gagosian resumes off a solid winter prep, which included a fast-finishing second in a stronger BM 78 at Corowa, and fresh form is OK. If lightly raced 5YO Wagga mare 7. Who Told Ya runs up to her potential, she'll be in the finish. Hit the line nicely second-up at big odds, and extra trip a plus. Tumut 6YO mare 2. Jounama has a big finish when she's in the mood, and has won two of her last four, but climbing up in the weights now; while both Canberra-based runners, 4YO mare 4. Eillod and 6YO gelding 5. Imitation Game, are each way hopes.

How to play it: Halliday Road each way and box exacta 1,2,3
Odds and Evens: Odds

Race 5 CL1 & MAIDEN PLATE (1600m):

Tricky affair over the mile, but trusting 5YO Wodonga gelding 5. Savvy Acquisition is ready to go for a new stable after campaigning in stronger Qld races through winter. Draws a nice barrier, and leading district rider aboard is a significant pointer.

Dangers: Progressive 4YO Warwick Farm gelding 1. Austreet motored home late to win his maiden at Moruya two runs back before almost repeating the dose at Orange. Used to lumping this weight, and this looks the right race fourth-up. Under-rated 5YO Canberra gelding 4. Imanacheeva also finished hard right behind Austreet in that same Class 1 when very well backed at each-way odds, and drawn even better here.

How to play it: Savvy Acquisition each way and box exacta 1,4,5
Odds and Evens: Odds

Race 6 CL1 HCP (1200m):

Keen on 4YO Wagga gelding 1. The Chaplain who has plenty of ability, and the best is yet to come. Was well backed when hitting the line resuming at home, and longer trip ideal. Won his maiden second-up last prep as a hot favourite.

Dangers: Canberra 5YO mare 4. Enjoy The Stars has had a stop start career since winning her maiden over a year ago, but she returned with an encouraging effort behind a nice horse at home, and getting to 1200m second-up also suits. Tumbarumba 5YO gelding 2. Truth Be Written is having a much improved second prep, winning two of his last three at big odds, and draws to get a nice trail; while 3YO Canberra gelding 10. Idee won his maiden on the synthetic three runs back, and did his best work late behind a smart youngster last start who went around in Saturday's Group 1 Flight Stakes at Randwick, and the blinkers go on. Wodonga 4YO mare 5. Miss Warny who just missed second-up at Wagga last start, and 4YO Canberra mare 6. Gypsy Flyer who won her maiden at Gundagai, are best of the rest.

How to play it: The Chaplain to win and Enjoy The Stars each way
Odds and Evens: Split

Race 7 BM 58 HCP (1400m):

Plenty of chances here. Canberra 4YO mare 4. Reason To Smile looks in the right race up in trip, and with promising apprentice claiming 2kg. Has been finding the line OK in deeper races, and just needs some cover from a wide barrier.

Dangers: Braidwood 7YO gelding 7. Mucker has the ability, but you never know which one is turning up. If he reproduces his closing effort behind two above average gallopers at Bathurst two runs back, he'll be in the finish jumping from an ideal gate. Canberra 6YO gelding 11. Admire Gratzki has let down punters a few times this prep, but is capable. Strike rate isn't flash, but comes back from deeper races, although will drift back a long way from the outsider barrier. Albury 8YO gelding 5. Dezzy seems to know when he's a long price. Finished over the top at huge odds at Corowa last start, and while this looks tougher, draws to get a good trail just off the speed. Wagga 6YO gelding 2. Cryfowl has won two of her last three in weaker company, but climbs back up to 60kg.

How to play it: Reason To Smile each way and box first four 2,4,5,7,11
Odds and Evens: Split

Race 8 COOTAMUNDRA CUP (1600m):

Feature race of the day. Wangaratta 5YO gelding 5. Parliament is one of the better placed runners at the weights all day, and drawn to park right behind the speed, can return to the winner's stall. Won two straight in late autumn up to BM 70 level, and drops a hefty 7kg from an even run at Tatura last start.

Dangers: Evergreen 7YO Wagga gelding 2. Gentleman Max finished hard from a long way back in the stronger Dubbo Cup, and was a BM 75 winner four runs back, but the question always remains having never won from 52 starts in good ground. Does he need it wet to win? Moruya 8YO gelding 1. Charlie Royale has mixed form from three runs this prep in stronger company, but the booking of form 4kg claiming apprentice gets him right in the race at the weights. Kembla 6YO gelding 10. Old Man's Angel looms as a knockout hope after rattling home to just miss in the Aggies Cup at Wagga, and drops 6kg to the limit weight; while 6YO stablemate mare 9. Titaness has been very disappointing this prep, but also gets down to the 54kg limit.

How to play it: Parliament to win
Odds and Evens: Split
