Built by one of the early settlers of the Perth Hills, this historic stone homestead has been lovingly nurtured over its 105 years.

Constructed in 1914 by Alfred Vincent, who at the time owned the Greenmount Quarrying Company, the English-style manor was created from stone conveniently sourced from the owner’s quarry.

The charming residence was affectionately named St Aubyn by the Vincent family, who adopted the name from a locality near Cornwall, England.

“It’s one of the early settlement properties in Darlington. It’s a beautiful home, a complete stone home built from locally sourced stone,” says selling agent Patrick Harper, from The Agency – Perth.

“It’s just so secluded. It borders the Greenmount National Park on one side and from the beautifully manicured back gardens it has views down the coastline.”

The unassuming property, which is privately nestled on 2ha, offers beautiful, landscaped grounds – melding English cottage style gardens with Australiana and outcrops.

The main residence comprises four bedrooms and three bathrooms with elegant formal and informal living spaces as well a self-contained one bedroom cottage.

The property has retained hallmarks of its era, including ornate ceilings and jarrah flooring while being sympathetically renovated over the years.

Wrap-around verandas, arched entry ways and chandeliers add a sense of opulence.

A separate studio adjoins the three vehicle garage and store rooms, while the original stables have been retained as a wood store.

The estate heralds an orchard and grass tennis court, amid the sprawling lawn areas, pathways and babbling winter creek.

There is also a monitored alarm system and ducted reverse cycle air conditioning.

Harper is taking offers on the sale and expects the property to sell in the mid $3 million range.
