A Flinders house owned by retired mining executive Charles Reis has hit the market with a $2.4-$2.6 million price tag.

The property is owned by senior mining executive Charles Reis.

Glimpses of the bay can be enjoyed.

Mr Reis said they extensively renovated and extended the fisherman’s cottage, which was built in the 1930s. It’s set on an 1854sq m block with sweeping lawns, fruit trees and glimpses of the bay.

Kay & Burton Flinders agent Tom Barr Smith said the huge block could be subdivided by the next buyer.

The huge block has plenty of space to build.

“I think it may well become a holiday home, but it also lends itself to being a permanent residence,” Mr Barr Smith said.

“They’ve looked after it really well and we’ve had some positive feedback during the campaign.”

Mr Reis and wife Chris renovated the old fisherman’s cottage.

A billiards room is also inside.

The businessman’s parents and grandparents owned the renowned Naughton’s Hotel in Parkville for 90 years.

“I was taught to pour a beer before learning to ride a bike,” Mr Reis said.

“I grew up in the hotel as a child and anyone with a keen eye will notice some of the pub memorabilia on the walls of our house at Flinders.”
