A Surry Hills film studio that was frequented by legends like David Bowie, Frank Sinatra, Jack Nicholson and Bob Marley has hit the market with a $5 million price guide.
Bresic Whitney’s Shannan Whitney and the Agency’s Bethwyn Richards share the listing of the three-level warehouse with 410 sqm of space at 26-28 Rainford St.
The pair say that the visiting stars attended the former photographic studio when recording albums and during Australian tours over a 40-year period.

“Many more celebrities made their way here,” Ms Richards said. “If the walls could talk, there certainly would be some stories during those times.”
Property records show the current owner is Rupert Le Poer Trench, whose VnR Creative has produced TV commercials, online video content and all forms of visual communication for more than 18 years.
According to CoreLogic, he bought the site for $3.91 million in 2016, and has done a major refurbishment of the early 20th century industrial building, including adding a surround sound cinema.
It’s now a home and production studio with parking for four cars.
The rare property retains its industrial edges, with exposed beams and floor to ceiling walls of glass.
The residence features open-plan living areas for entertaining and there’s a rooftop terrace with city views.
The property goes to auction on November 2.
