A Pearl Beach home that had not been on the market for 80 years has sold to a Northern Beaches architect, who is looking to knock down and rebuild a home focused on sustainability.
Located in one of the coast’s most desirable enclaves, the property at 9 Green Point Rd was sold to Cammeray-based architect Clare Carter for $1.8 million.

Agent Dale Bassett from PRD Ettalong said that the buyer originally wanted to renovate the property, but it would need to be knocked down due to its rundown and asbestos-ridden condition.
“The house is surrounded by all these beautiful trees, which the buyer will work with to create something really special,” he said.
Elevated and privately tucked away, the original north-facing property is set on a large 1042sqm block and is one of the first ever homes built in Pearl Beach.
The quiet and leafy suburb is renowned for its expensive weekender properties, owned by Sydney corporates looking to escape the rat race.
Mr Bassett recently sold another Pearl Beach property at 32 Tourmaline Ave in just two days for $1.325 million.

The three-bedroom holiday house was purchased as a weekender by a Sydney corporate from the Inner West.
“The Pearl Beach market has gathered some speed after a recent lull, caused by the Banking Royal Commission and a general lack of sentiment across the housing market,” Mr Bassett said.
“We’ve had a bit of a correction, but things are certainly picking up in Pearl Beach.”
