In their final post to their Sussex Royal Instagram account, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex say everyone "has the potential and opportunity to make a difference".

  • The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will officially step down from Royal duties on March 31
  • They have vowed to continue their charity work
  • In a final Instagram post, Prince Harry and Meghan said they were focusing on "how we can best contribute" to a changing world

Prince Harry and Meghan will step down from Royal duties from March 31 to pursue greater financial independence.

In the post, they said although followers may not see their presence on Instagram, they would continue their charity work.

The pair described the world as "extraordinarily fragile" and urged people to "lift each other up" to make it a better place.

"What's most important right now is the health and wellbeing of everyone across the globe and finding solutions for the many issues that have presented themselves as a result of this pandemic," they wrote.

"As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute."

They thanked the community for their support.

The post came only days after it was revealed Meghan would narrate a Disney documentary, entitled Elephant, and that the pair have moved to Los Angeles from Canada with their son, Archie.

During March, they undertook several official engagements including attending the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey alongside the Queen and other Royal family members.

Under an agreement with the Queen, Harry will remain a prince and the couple will keep their title but not actively use His or Her Royal Highness.

They also agreed to stop using the name Sussex Royal for charity work, online and on social media.

Prince Harry will remain sixth in line to the throne.

Meanwhile, the Duke's father, the Prince of Wales is out of self-isolation and in "good health" after being diagnosed with coronavirus last week, Clarence House said in a statement.

Prince Charles was in isolation for seven days after testing positive for COVID-19.
