Police are investigating a vandalism attack in the early hours of this morning at the home of Melbourne mortgage broker Richard Pusey, who was allegedly involved a truck crash that claimed the lives of four police officers.
- Police said the attack happened at about 4:00am and anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers
- Richard Pusey is in custody after yesterday facing court on nine charges related to a crash
- Police are still not able to question the driver of the truck involved in the crash
The word "die" was spray-painted across the roller door of Mr Pusey's home in Fitzroy, at about 4:00am.
Police said they were investigating a "criminal damage" incident at the home.
"The incident happened at 4:00am when an unknown person spray-painted and damaged a roller door," Victoria Police said in a statement.
"Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers."
The 41-year-old appeared in court on Friday charged with multiple offences after he allegedly fled the scene of a crash which claimed the life of four police officers on Melbourne's Eastern Freeway on Wednesday.
Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Constable Glen Humphris, Senior Constable Kevin King and Constable Josh Presney were killed in the crash.
The officers were standing in the emergency lane when they were hit by a truck as they prepared to impound his Porsche 911.
The court was told Mr Pusey was filmed abusing one of the officers and complaining about damage to his car after the fatal crash.
The car was allegedly travelling at 149 kilometres per hour and Mr Pusey was allegedly under the influence of methylamphetamine and cannabis before he was pulled over.
He is charged with nine offences, including speeding, failing to assist at a crash scene and drug offences.
Meanwhile, the truck driver allegedly involved in the crash remains in hospital and is yet to be interviewed.
Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton hoped investigators would have been able to interview the man on Friday, but this morning Victoria Police said the situation would be reassessed in coming days.
