Former AFL No. 1 draft pick Bryce Gibbs is hoping to boot his renovated Princes Hill home at auction later this month.
The ex-Carlton and Adelaide player is selling the four-bedroom property at 101 Wilson Street after deciding to stay in South Australia’s capital following his retirement from the AFL last year.
He has $2.5-$2.7m price hopes for the single-fronted terrace with a stylish, modern transformation at the rear.

“We initially left the door open with this property. But now that footy’s finished up, we are pretty settled here and have decided to stay in Adelaide long term,” Gibbs told Property Confidential.
The midfielder played 231 of his 286 AFL games with the Blues, winning the club’s best and fairest in 2014. He and his family moved to Adelaide, where he’s originally from, after he was traded to the Crows in late 2017.
Gibbs is set to pull on the boots for SANFL side South Adelaide in season 2021, in addition to becoming the club’s player development manager.
He said he was “a bit emotional” to leave behind the Princes Hill home, which he snapped up at auction in 2012 while on the footy field.
“After I got drafted in 2006, the Carlton and Princes Hill area really appealed to me, so I always had it in the back of my mind,” Gibbs said.
“I was training the day of the auction, so I had someone bidding for me and I got off the track to the exciting news that we had bought it.
“It had all the character I really like, with the heritage features and old fireplaces. So we kept the front bedrooms and went all modern for the renovation at the back.”
Gibbs said the living room’s soaring ceiling and brick feature wall, which was uncovered during the renovation, were some of his favourite parts of the property he shared with wife Lauren.
The couple is now in the market for a new pad with a “good backyard” and plenty of space for their kids, Charlie, 5, and Madison, 1.
Walshe & Whitelock selling agent Peter Sowersby said a “handful” of buyers had already asked for contracts for the Princes Hill home after just a week of inspections.
“It’s been popular with second-home buyers,” Mr Sowersby said.
“Everyone loves the transition from the old to new and the great outlook over the backyard.”
The property is set to go under the hammer on February 27.
