Adelaide home values were expected to hold strong throughout the coronavirus pandemic but no one predicted they would climb to new heights.

Latest Valuer-General figures show the metropolitan house median surpassed $500,000 for the first time – reaching $510,000, to be exact – following 5.15 per cent growth over the past 12 months.

To put that into perspective, here’s a taste of what you can get in Adelaide’s north, south, east, west and Hills regions with that median price.

While it’s difficult to find a stand-alone house in the eastern suburbs for around the $500,000 mark, there are some townhouses and units that fit the bill, including this one in Hectorville.

The two-storey, three-bedroom residence is in a townhouse complex and has a $480,000 to $495,000 asking price.

Close to schools, local shopping centres and the CBD, it’s in an envious position.
