This above-par Avondale Heights house is sure to make golfers green with envy.
Owner of the past decade Jackson Barling has built his own private driving range in the backyard.
And he’s now inviting buyers to take a swing at the 49 Barbara Crescent property, listing it with a $940,000-$1m price guide.

Keen to make the most of sweeping views over the Maribyrnong River on offer from his yard, Mr Barling called on his tradie mates to help him create the timber platform topped with a spot to tee off from.
“I’m a bit of a hack at golf. It hasn’t helped my game at all,” he said.
“But the view is pretty nice, and it’s nice to be out there when the sun’s out, having a few beers and hitting balls with the lads.”
Some of Mr Barling’s golf buddies — including his selling agent, Jas Stephens director Tate Moore — have even taken to using his four-bedroom house as their private clubhouse.
“Some of them leave their clubs here,” he said.
Mr Moore said the rare feature — along with Mr Barling’s “quality” renovation — was already turning buyers’ heads ahead of the scheduled February 27 auction.
“Because of the view, it’s pretty impressive just sitting there without hitting balls. But being able to do that is an added bonus,” he said.
“The size of the house itself also ensures it offers a fair bit to someone wanting an inner-city family home.”
Mr Moore added a self-contained unit on the ground floor — featuring bedroom, living and dining space, a kitchen, ensuite, laundry and its own entry — was “just as unique as the driving range”.
Mr Barling said he’d miss the home’s quiet position near the river, his favourite fish and chip shop Anchor Fish Bar, and plenty of dog-walking spots he had shared with staffy Denzel, when he sold to downsize.
