26 laps to go: Pit stop strategy starts to come into play
The drivers have settled a little in the top five as they work out how to use their final remaining pit stop.
Do they adjust the tyre pressure? Do they just go a touch short?
Cam Waters has just lost a bit of time on that last lap after doing a lap almost 3 seconds slower.
He's sliding around a bit, perhaps his tyres are going off, which changes the dynamic for the Tickford Racing team by removing an option.
1. #97 - Shane van Gisbergen/Garth Tander
2. #99 - Brodie Kostecki/David Russell +3.5
3. #25 - Chaz Mostert/Fabian Coulthard +1.1
4. #6 - Cameron Waters/James Moffat +4.2
5. #10 - Lee Holdsworth/Matt Payne +5.5

28 laps to go: Battle for fifth
Lee Holdsworth and Broc Feeney have exchanged positions a couple of times.
A mistake from Holdsworth let the Holden through, but he then fought back and got the place back too.

The 'critical' pit stop window
The critical lap is 138.
That's the point at which you can fuel up and get through to the finish on a tank of fuel.
That's 23 laps remaining.
So in 5 laps or so, we'll see some pit stops and they'll be fascinating.

29 laps to go
The top four are separated by 5.1 seconds.
Incredible stuff.
Cam Waters has just started to drop back a little, is he just biding his time a little bit, trying to hold onto a bit of fuel to reduce the stationary time of his final stop?
He's down to a second back.
1. #97 - Shane van Gisbergen/Garth Tander
2. #99 - Brodie Kostecki/David Russell +3.9
3. #25 - Chaz Mostert/Fabian Coulthard +0.4
4. #6 - Cameron Waters/James Moffat +1.1
5. #10 - Lee Holdsworth/Matt Payne +4.2

131 laps
The battle is now for second.
Cam Waters is sliding around corners and pushing his tyres and his Ford Mustang to the limit.
This is incredible drama.
1. #97 - Shane van Gisbergen/Garth Tander
2. #99 - Brodie Kostecki/David Russell +3.4
3. #25 - Chaz Mostert/Fabian Coulthard +0.5
4. #6 - Cameron Waters/James Moffat +0.7
5. #10 - Lee Holdsworth/Matt Payne +3.8
Remember, there's still a pit stop to go, so the team garages still could have a mighty say in the destination of the race.

130 laps: Battle for second hotting up
Brodie Kostecki is defending for his life from Chaz Mostert.
Shane van Gisbergen has opened up a 3.4-second lead now and is just flying away from the pack.
Cam Waters is coming though, he's less than a second behind.

129 laps: Van Gisbergen, Waters flying
Shane van Gisbergen sets his fastest lap of the race so far with a 2:06:74.
Cam Waters though, is flying, a 2:06.81.
He wants a podium spot and he wants it now.

127 laps: Van Gisbergen pulls away
Shane van Gisbergen has a gap of 2 seconds over the battles behind him.
While his rivals take lumps out of each other, the Supercars champion elect is just roaring ahead.
Meanwhile, Cam Waters has put a move on and moved into fourth place! A small mistake from Broc Feeney.
He went off line and now has been overtaken by Lee Holdsworth and is under pressure from Will Davidson.

126 laps: Battles for second, fourth
Chaz Mostert is being told to cool his engine, get his temperature down in some clear air.
The easiest way to do that will be to overtake and he's getting ever so close to doing so but Brodie Kostecki is blocking very nicely, positioning his Erebus Holden Commodore perfectly in the corners.
They're both trailing Van Gisbergen by 1.5 seconds and have opened up the same gap to the battle behind them.

125 laps: Contact between Waters and Feeney!
It's at turn one and a puff of mud and dust kicks up as Feeney gets a bit wobbly out of the exit.
Waters is fuming that Feeney is moving under braking.
This is terrific stuff!

125 laps
Waters has a look at Feeney! The door gets shut pretty quickly on the Ford man.
Waters has another look down the outside of the final corner but there's no room there either.
Brilliant racing.

What is the orange box around Van Gisbergen's number?
Hey Simon. Question. Van Gisbergen's car number has an orange background in column 2 on the position table. What does orange signify?
- Mike
That's because he is the Supercars championship leader.

124 laps
It's nose to bumper and they're all being very well behaved at the moment!
Mostert has a look at Kostecki but there's no dice, a late, late breaking zone from the #99,
Van Gisbergen has a half second advantage, but he's the only one who has any sort of gap to play with.
1. #97 - Shane van Gisbergen/Garth Tander
2. #99 - Brodie Kostecki/David Russell
3. #25 - Chaz Mostert/Fabian Coulthard
4. #88 - Broc Feeney/Jamie Whincup
5. #6 - Cameron Waters/James Moffat

Todd Hazlewood will continue
That #35 car has seen better days...
After limping back to the pits he has been able to get back out there and will remain in the hunt for points.

Key Event
Lap 119: Safety car!
It's Todd Hazlewood who slams into the wall and we have the first safety car in 62 laps.
Hazlewood is furious with himself.
The field is going to compress - all the work that Shane van Gisbergen had built has now dropped to nothing.
He leaps straight into the pits.
Cam Waters has got to be happy with that, as the field will now be compacted for him to jump back up the field.
