Today's games in Qatar
The anthems are sung
By Jon Healy
Huge cheers as the big screen shows Cristiano Ronaldo, arm-in-arm with his teammates in the dugout, singing the anthem.
This crowd will erupt when (if?) he gets on the pitch today.
Why is Ronaldo benched?
By Jon Healy
We don't know for sure exactly the thought process of Portugal coach Fernando Santos, but we do know Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't had the sort of impact at this tournament that you might expect from a five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
His attitude has also been called into question after he sulked at being subbed during the 2-1 loss to South Korea. He had a chop at a South Korean player as he walked off, which Santos said he "didn't like ... at all".
Ronaldo also reportedly said something about the coach during that tirade.
All told, it's not a great look for Ronaldo, especially after his ugly split with Manchester United.
Ronaldo fans taking his benching well
By Jon Healy
In fairness, this bloke, YouTuber IShowSpeed, travelled all the way to Qatar basically just to watch Ronaldo.
It's not gone well for him.
But the Portugal superstar can still have a massive impact coming off the bench in the second half. If he's engaged, which at a World Cup, you'd hope he would be.

Skipper Cristiano Ronaldo is on the bench for Portugal for this match after starting all three group games.
That means 39-year-old defender Pepe takes the captain's armband.
Morocco reaches quarterfinals for the first time!

Key Event
Yesterday it was Croatia's goalie, today it's Morocco's who gets to be the hero for his country.
Yassine Bounou was not scored on once in the penalty shootout against 2010 World Cup winners Spain, stopping two of the shots, while the other one hit the post.
It was a remarkable victory for Morocco, which has never won more than a game at a World Cup, and they've now reached the last eight with their third victory in Qatar.
